Brief Summary of the Project

Ashiya University Solar Car Project

The Ashiya University Solar Car Project consists of a team of students, alumni, and faculty members of Ashiya University. The project focuses on research and development of solar technology, racing, community engagement such as elementary school demonstrations and participation in clean-energy projects. Since we do not have a Department of Technology, the whole project is organized by the faculty members. But activities are led by the students, many of whom study automobile engineering and elementary education.

The team has won many races nationally and internationally and is ranked as the most outstanding in Japan and one of the top teams in the world today. The project has received much media attention for its achievements and social contributions, which have been awarded by the Hyogo Prefectural Governor, Ashiya City Mayor, the Japan Automobile Federation, and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile.
